Where can i find out online how to install a water softener with a combination boiler?

Question:i would like to install a water softener and I have a combination boiler ie a closed system, I have heard that i need high flow connections and that i should not use softened water to fill the central heating circuit and also that the kitchen cold tap should use hard water. Where can I find the answers to these and other questionsas well as a diagram on how the plumbing connections must be arranged?
