Answers:
its not alot of work but if he has a friend to help its about 10 times faster
My ex husband & I own a mobile home transportation & set up company...It will be very hard to reset the house...I think you could probably tear it down, but make sure you have the axles & tires on & all that...also be sure to weather proof it.youll need rollers to reset it though, which are not an everyday item you can just find at lowes... you also have to have a double tandem truck to pull it with or else you will pull your bumper off...good luck girl!
With all due respect it is not strictly a DIY project. Obviously separating the two halves is the easy part.
I've seen professionals struggle or rather endure the replacement process, and happen to have lived in a couple.

Its not too hard, but the worst part is that when its moved, pulling it back together and leveling it. I tried it with mine and its still not leveled right. then after every time you level it you have to re-tighten the anchor straps. Its really more time consuming than anything. Plan for at LEAST a full day of work.
People get killed everyday (maybe not EVERY day, but...) because they don't know what they are doing and don't have the right equipment. That's about 50,000 lbs sitting there over your head while you jack it up and pull the two sides together. For $1500 you can get someone to do it that knows what he's doing. It ain't nothin' that you want to screw around with.
I used to build houses and now I build steel-framed factories and I wouldn't get under one of those without someone with a lot of experience doing it with me.
