Plastering tips please?

Question:What is the correct water to plaster ratio for finishing plaster?

Answers:
right fill a bucket about a third full ,then add your plaster a hand full at a time remember u can always add more powder but will be in trouble if you start adding more water. either use a stick or buy a mixing whisk attachment for your drill, then mix until u have a lump free mixture you wanna aim for a consistency close to cold custard , yes cold custard, if you mix it too wet your gonna spill it every where , and too stiff your not gonna be able to apply it properly, a bit f water to flatten and smooth and you should be ok , best of luck

mix it until you get a texture like whipped cream
don't rush trying to plaster you have more time than you think and sprinkle with water to polish
It depends on what consistency you want. Plasterers generally use 12.5 litres of water to a 25kg bag give or take depending on how thick you want it..
Not being unkind, but if you have to ask this question then you are proberbly not able to do the plastering.
A plasterer has had three years of training. it is not something easy to pick up, and you need alot of patience.
Mix it as thick as squirty cream, so you feel comfortable using it.
What we usually do is fill a bucket of water a quarter full and then add plaster mixing it as we go until we feel comfortable with it.
Mix it too wet and it will end up on the floor - too dry and you will be hammering in on the wall.
Have fun
