How do you kill "sticker weeds"?

Question:Hey all! I moved into this cool place with super cheap rent and I love it xcept for one side. The hedge has sticker weeds as tall as it is. I want to take care of it and fancy up the hedge myself. I am allowed to do anything to it. Help please!
Please don't answer with "have the landlord do it". I could, but I like my privacy and I've never had my own yard.
thanx

never heard of sticker weeds
I have never heard of sticker weeds myself so, cut a piece of it off and take it to a nursey and ask them what might kill it. If it's just a weed with stickers then you might try Round Up but, be sure not to spray your hedges with it. If they are mixed in with your hedges then i suggest you put on some gloves and pull them up by the root. Sorry i couldn't be more helpful but, without knowing just what a sticker weed is, all i can do is guess at it although, Round up works very well at killing any type of weeds.
Good luck!!
If you are talking about what I think you are talking about, this is actually a wild strawberry vine. Where do you live, you don't mention that. Anyway, the only way we've gotten rid of the vines is to either dig them up - which only worked because we were mass clearing the area they had taken over - or use round up on them. Since you are trying to get them out of a hedge you want to keep, pull the vine from the hedge and find where it goes in the ground. Cut and apply Round Up to the freshly cut stalk. You may need to do this multiple times, but it will eventually kill it. You can try to mass spray, but I was worried it would also kill what I was trying to keep.
