Where can I get a 110v / 3Kva transformer in Edinburgh?
Question:I was given a 110v Makita hammer drill and need to step it down from 230v.
Answers:
3 Kva sounds a bit big for a hammer drill?? I'm in Edinburgh and can supply you with one, or you can get one from Screwfix or various other suppliers.
B&Q - limited stock at the moment though
rent one from a hire shop. If you get on well ith it they will probably sell you one
As someone else says, 3 kVA sounds big for a hammer drill unless its a breaker. 1.5 kVA or even 1 kVA should be plenty ig enough for a standard drill. Any commercial tool shop will sell one to you, or someone like HSS, although I think they are a little expensive.
Newey & Eyres
Edmanson Electrical
City Electrical Factors
Any hire company sell transformers
B&Q Homebase etc will add there percentage to the wholesale price that you'll get from the above wholesalers
check the wattage of the drill ie 400w its on a label near the Serial No'
you dont need a 3000w transformer for something that small 1.5Kva will do!
