Fountain art project. Is it possible?
Question:Im doing a project for art, and Im basicly making two floating islands out of clay, they would be supported by a beam in the bottom. I wanted one to be above the other, and like a fountain, water flows from that island to the lower one, which the water will then fall into something else where it becomes recycled.
Is this even possible? Could the water be recycled back up from the supporting beams into the pond I would create in the island? I'm sure this can somehow be possible as long as I have the resources I need.
So how do I make a fountain :P.
Answers:
In addition to your pump, which you definitely can find at ahome store like Home Depot or Lowes (outside in the garden center), you'll need some plastic tubing and probably access to a drill if you plan to hide the tubing to circulate the water. I wasn't clear on exactly how your fountain will be laid out, but I'm imagining you plan to take the water through the "beams" to the top island. In any case, you'll need to leave a hole in the island or pond to put the tubing through. Get a tube of silicon sealant (avilable at the same places) to seal any gaps where the tubing comes in so your fountain won't leak. Have fun
You'll need a fountain water pump. They should be available at most Home and Garden stores. If you can't find one in store like that try to find a decorative fountain at a mall or gift shop. You can cannibalise the pump from one of those.
I wish I was their with you cause I love to make projects and just like you I love to create things. Anything is possible just like
be_of _marlow's said that you'll need a water pump. Good Luck with your project and I know that it is going to come out just like you pictured it... :o)
