How do you stop an electric motor from getiin over amped and shutting off?

Question:i have a whole house fan and the motor keeps shutting off

Answers:
Is it on a timer?

are you sure you are using the correct input voltage?
The motor is most likely thermally protected. Most 120v motors are. It will shut off when the motor draws too much current and overheats. Make sure ventilation isn't blocked around the fan. It could be just an old, worn, motor.
do not over heat them. turn off when ur not really using it.
