Need helping drilling holes into a chrome face plate!?

Question:Not having good luck trying to install our face plate for our shower. The face plate won't sit flush on the shower wall and we want to try to screw it in. My husbands not sure what type of drill bit to use so the face plate won't crack.

Answers:
Sounds like the faucet was roughed-in to far out.

They make repair eschesions that are somewhat large in diameter. It goes between the wall, and the original face plate.

It may be the best way to go for you.
I'll see if Barnett Supply has one. I've only seen one, maybe two, so they may be hard to find.

if you are going to drill trough something slippery meaning the bit skips all over first use a punch or a nail and make a small dent and drill away
First you are going to have to make the surface flat for the face plate otherwise it will break when you try to screw it in.(the faceplate is not flexible.)
Not knowing exactly what the problem is, this might not make sense.but you might try using a silicon type caulking to "glue" it in place. Sure would look better, if that would solve the problem you're having.
