How do i wire in a siemens rdd10 room thermostat?

Question:The siemens thermostat has 3 terminals marked Q11, Q14 and Q12. My original thermostat has 4 wires going to it brown, black, grey and earth. Does anyone know which wires go where and which wire/s are not required.

Answers:
The black and grey cores should have been identified with brown and blue sleeving or tape, as they will be the switched load and neutral, and could be either way around, but SHOULD be grey (marked blue) neutral, and black (marked brown) switched load. The brown will be the feed from the timer, if fitted, and should remain brown. You will have to identify these with a test lamp before connecting or damage will result. You cannot discard any of the cores. Live connects to Q11, load to Q14 and neutral to N.

The manual on the top of this search result (second citation below) includes a connection diagram and application examples which should help with this.

Good luck!
