Stick your hand or whatever in a bucket of ice immediately! I work for a coffee shop and the first week I was there I dumped an Americano on my hand. My boss had me stick it in ice for 5-10 minutes. Yes, it was freezing but it cooled it very quickly. Luckily, it was not so severe that it hurt the next day. Have someone call 9-1-1 if it is sever. Put aloe vera gel on your hand to heal it and stop the burning.
REMOVE THE HEAT. COOL THE BURN IMMEDIATELY. WITH WATER. DO NOT USE BUTTER OR SUCH. Seek professional help if aged or minor child, if face or genitals are burned, if burns are severe.
Yellow mustard or aloe vera, from the plant, work well on minor burns.

Run cold water on it as soon as possible.The burn will keep burning for a few days. You can hit it with ice also after running it under the water.Never put butter or any other oil based product on it as it will seal in the heat and just make it worse.If it blisters ..don't pop it.If the burn has taken off skin..go to the doctors infections can set in very fast!If you need to cover it use a dry dressing ,Good Luck with this home work.

The best thing to do in this situation is to use clean water for an extended period of time. Although your not in contact with the object that burned you any longer, it takes a while of radiational cooling through water to ensure it stops burning. The largest risks associated after a burn (aside from blistering and pain) is infection. Using a Aloe or 1% Silver Sulfadiazine cream with a clean wooden popcycle stick will assist in keeping the area moist while also removing the sting further. Of course if the burn is bad and if its in a case of pediatrics there is no substitute for an emergency room. Infection is your worst enemy and can lead to long term effects if the area of the burn becomes infected. Hope this helps.
Imediately cool the burning skin under cool water to stop deeper burning. Someone should be getting some ice water to place the wound in. Start applying Aleo Vera Gel, smother the burn in the gel. Keep it in the ice water until it is comfortable out of the water. Keep applying the Aleo Vera gel. Over & over again
I got 1st & 2nd degree burns on my face from a pressure cooker blowing up in my face. All I used was the Aleo Vera Gel, I kept my face wet with the gel. I do not have any scars.

Rinse it off right away and apply ice and.or burn cream. If you don't do it right away the skin actually continues to burn and will hurt worse and worse the longer you go.
