How to make a cushion for my chair?

Question:I need a pattern to make a cushion for my new rocker. Any ideas?

Answers:
put newspaper in the seat and draw the pattern of the seat.
When cutting out the pattern realise that that is outline of finished cushion. you must cut it several inches away from the pattern to allow for thickness of cushion.
Sew three sides.
Stuff with poly fill or dense foam and then close the back with hand stitching or snaps.
If you want it tufted you must allow more inches from the pattern.
One way to dress it up in put cording in the seams as you sew it up or add a ruffle.

JUST MAKE A TEMPLATE FOR THE SIZE YOU WANT TO COVER, AND DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU WANT THE ROCKER, YOU CAN PICK A NUBBY TAPESTRY DESIGN THAT WILL GO WITH VIRTUALLY MANY COLORS.
Certainly patterns are available online and at fabric stores, IE: Joanns. As others had said trace a size thats appropriate, and decide on fabric, piping, zippers, etc.

I suggest ready made, foam cushioning, sold in various thicknesses, IE: 2, 3, 4 inch, and often in sizes and shapes ready cut to approximate what size you need.

The cushion would likely be made in no less than 3 main parts, and stitched inside out initially. It's likely you can do a back cushion in the same manner, using a thinner piece of foam.
