ONE 40 lb bag of quikrete makes how many cubic yards of concrete?
Question:I am building a small concrete triangular platform which is 819 cubic inches, or .47 cubic yards. How many bags of quikrete are needed?
Answers:
819 cubic inches is .47 cubic feet, not yards. As I recall, a 60lb bag is about 1/2 cu.ft. so you might need about one and a half 40 lb. bags,.
Here is a GREAT reference from Sakrete, which is a company owned by Bonsal, a concrete manufacturer:

If you go to lowes or home depot there is a chart at the contractors desk.
well I can't tell how many bags are needed for your job but I will tell you that A 40# bag does not make A cubic
yard I don't even think A 80# bag makes a cubic yard.
read the back of bag more carefully I think 1 40#bag will probly get u a slab bout 2inches deep by 24in'x24in
There are many types and sizes of Quikcrete, go to the home center and pick out the type you want, the bag tells the volume that each makes.
40# bag makes one (1) cubic foot of concrete that's 12"highX12"wideX12"deep best to rent a mixer on a trailer at the rental store faster cheaper and already have the mix ready to go and a lot less hassle, call ahead reserve one because now is the time they go fast.
I'm not sure about your math 819 cu inches is only 5.6875 cu feet which isnot .47 cu yards. there are 27 cu feet in a yard your looking at about half a yard so I would say you will need 14 bags of quickrete which has 1 cu foot per bag in it.
You need 18 bags. A 40 lb. bag will make approximately 1/3 cubic foot of crete. 819 cu. in. divided by 144 (cu. in. per sq. ft.) X 3 gives you 17.0625 bags of crete, get 18. Hope this helps.
