Is there a product to redo wood floors without sanding them.?

Question:

Answers:
Absolutely, it is called Wood-Solv (used to be Rx For Wood Floors). It works by chemically (the chemical is not harsh or overpowering) softening your finish. You then redistribute the softened finish over the floor with a low speed floor buffer. After the old finish dries, put a coat or two of new poly on it and your done.
I have used this product several times with great success. I used it to refinish an entire home this month and it looked great.
Wood-Solv has a website where you can get more info.

You could use a stripping agent to remove old dirt and wax. Trying to strip off the original finish would require using chemicals that would drive you out of the house. Check with a major brand paint store for finishes that can be applied safely and produce the finish you desire.
The other answer was correct -- the smell would drive you out of the house, and I think the cleanup would take longer than actually sanding the floor and refinishing it. Nowadays, you can rent floor sanders that have a bag to catch most of the dust. I would recommend this only for one room. If doing more than one room, I would hire a professional - they're faster and have better equipment than what can be rented. Also, they use sandpaper that can take off paint or carpet foam residue, no prior scraping needed. I hired a crew to sand the floors of three bedrooms and a hallway (entire upstairs); they will be done in two days. My newly done floors will last for years before needing to be resanded because I don't permit dogs or shoes on the floors; those are the worst things to wear down or scratch the finish. Good luck!!
Years ago we used a product called Mex, You apply it and wash it off, sometimes you might have to scrape some parts, But it worked great, I don't know if they still make it, You can check your local hardware store, or Home depot.
