I want to paint my house with the Wagner Paint Crew 2800PSI Power Painter? Are they any good to use?
Question:I never used a paint sprayer and I would like to know more how to use it on the house?
Answers:
number6 is 100% correct. If you've never used a sprayer, don't bother. Your paint job will last MUCH longer if you use the good ol' brush and roller techniques.
Contractors usually have someone to mask everything off for them, a guy to spray, and a person going behind them and brushing/rolling the coating deeper into the substrate. They're all trained on how to do it well. If you don't have these people available to help you when you want to spray, don't bother. It isn't anywhere as easy as they make it look in the infomercials or commercials.
And to whomever posted that Wagner is the joke of the industry, they're also 100% correct. Honestly, it's an absolute waste of money to buy one. You'll likely not use it often, they break easily, and are difficult to find replacement parts.
They work magnificently. Just start with a little area until you get the feel of it and then take off. Nothing to it. Just make sure you keep the nozzle free of build up. And do it on a day when the wind isn't blowing.
Wagner is a joke in the painting industry. But that aside,i wouldnt even try spraying your house without experience. You will make a mess and waste gallons of paint,i promise.
I personally own one that I purchased about 2 years ago. I painted the exterior of my house & my sister's house as well as a couple of rooms in my own house. The only thing that I didn't like too much was the small hopper-it only holds 2 gallons, but besides that it worked like a champ!! TIP: At most home improvement stores you can buy "OOPS" paint at a much reduced price-usually about $5. Get a can of this of the same brand that you are going to buy for the color (different companies have different viscosities) & use this for practice on an old piece of plywood or something, so you don't waste too much money on the good paint. Using an airless sprayer takes some time to master. Read the instructions carefully & don't be afraid to ask the people where you buy it from if you have any questions.
that sprayer should pump out about 1/3 gallon per min about 130 sq ft per min. you will have to practice a little but for a home owner model it will do what you want just remember keep away from the spray nozzle as it can cause a serious injury
ok.First of all, you cannot "spray paint" a house. I know that you see it being done all the time on TV but, what you do not see, is what those houses look like a year later. The paint just falls off. (curiously, guy's looking to sell houses don't seem to mind this) Anyway, to confuse the issue further, professionals (such as myself) spray paint onto houses all the time. It's a time saving technique that works like this: One man sprays the paint on, the other brushes it IN. Once the "ten thousand brush dips into a bucket" are removed from the process, the work moves right along. Long story short: If you don't brush it in, it will not stay on. Please do not learn this the hard way.
