How do I get rid of the smell of a dead mouse in my floorboard?

Question:I think I have a dead mouse underneath my floorboard in my Utility Room. I can't physically see it and I can't get to it. I've called an exterminator and they said if it is in the floor or wall they won't remove it, (a lot of good they are). Over the phone they said that the smell will go away it can take between a couple days and a few weeks. The smell is horendous how do I get rid of the smell until it goes away on it's own?

Answers:
hello, boy do i know that smell. you see we have a rodent problem and we were told to put the poison blocks out they would go out and die.or they would just denigrate.not true i put vinegar in a bowl and let it sit there for days.the truth is it takes a good 2 to 3 weeks before the smell goes away.the smell will also attract more rodents.go online and check out sprays to get ride of the odor that attracts more.i believe it is called Davis spray

You really can't. All you can do is try to air it out as much as possible. But if it's only a mouse, it shouldn't last long.
Use a box of baking soda, change it every 4 to 5 days. Spray some vinegar in the area, if you can. Regards-Bob.
Kill a cat and put it next to the dead mouse, then your abode will smell like dead cat instead of dead mouse. Nature's natural air fresheners, cat corpses!
