Where can I buy a water hammer arrrestor?

Question:Hello! I found out that I have a water hammer problem with 3 toilets in my house. When water fills the tank, I hear tat-tat-tat-tat from basement. I was thinking about installaing mini water hammer arrestor by the toilets. Where can I buy the water hammer arrestors? Do I need a plumber license to buy these things? Thanks!

Here's an online source but you can probably order them from home depot also.

You should be able to find them at Lowe's or Home Depot. You can also make your own by installing a tee in the line and stub off a 6 inch or so piece of pipe with a cap soldered to it.
I have never seen them that you can install yourself. they need to be in the water line in the basement. Unless you are good with solder joints, you will need a plumber. If the pipes are exposed, add more brackets to keep the pipe from vibrating.
You can buy them at Home Depot. Lowe's, etc. But before you do check to see if the little fill tube in your tank pulled out of the riser tube as it sounds like its feeding water directly into the tank causing a wave which would make the float move up and down which would make the sound you are hearing, take the lid off and flush the bowl and watch it to see I'm betting thats where your problem is.
