How can I build a sandbox on top of an area that is designated for landscape (has soil etc.)?

Question:The area is behind our home and we were going to landscape it but decided that just topping it off with sand for the kids would be so much more fun. We just do not know where to start. There are quite a few ants back there... thanks for any tips!!

Answers:
buy a big plastic swimming pool and fill it with sand. Put a few small holes in the bottom edge so rain can run through it.

amdro for the ants . roundup for the grass/weeds. landscape timbers for the sandbox perimeter
I did this once. The pool idea is good and the building a frame is too. One thing you really need to do if you plan on letting the kids play in the sand is to be sure to cover it when you are not using it. Why? Cats love to urinate and defaecate in sand. I would not want your kids playing in that. also when you buy the sand, make sure you get sand that is intended for a sand box so you won't have plants and bugs growing in it.
