How can i build a cheap fence for backyard?
Question:

set wooden posts into the ground. try 4X4s. (you can get by with something else if you can find it cheap and you don't need the strength of 4X4s.) you don't have to set them in concrete if you tamp the earth well. rent an 2-man auger for very little and the hole digging will go very fast. then use chicken wire or netting. you can simply staple it to the posts.
too cheap for 4X4s? find a patch of bamboo you can chop. bind several pieces to make a sizable post and set it into the ground. or only use the large pieces and set your poles closer together.
Go online and check menards, home depot , etc.. for low cost do it yourself fencing.
Go into the nearest forest and gather dead wood and build your fence from there. Aside from being cheap it also gives it a "rustic" look. :) Also, you can use rocks to form a wall, also from the local forest/rock pile.
use chicken wire. Everything else is pretty darn expensive. But, honestly, you can do some neat things with some wire and rocks, a few posts.
Example: place posts as if building a regular fence. Use a roll of regular, cheap wire fencing and stretch nice and tight pole to pole. make chicken wire rings the same height as your fence, place around posts and fill with varying sizes of rocks. Once full, the chicken wire will be nearly invisible and it looks like you have expensive, concrete supports. Your "cheap" wire fence is hardly noticeable because people are looking at your awesome rock columns.
Try looking at motherearthnews.com , they just had an article in their mag about building fences for low cost.
How private do you want to be?
How big is your back yard?
Non private: split rail
Private: Plant swamp Cedars @ 2' (on center). let them grow to the height you want, than cut the tops off, that'll force them to grow wider
