Is it possible to make your own lcd wallmount out of wood?

Question:i have a 15" really light lcd tv. i dont think its worth $60 to but a small piece of metal to mount it on the wall. if i get a good piece of wood, wouldnt that do the job and save me some cash? not that im cheap, i just dont like getting ripped off

Answers:
Lcd tvs come with a metal plate at the back for mounting it on solid or dry wall. If you want a wood effect at the background to sort of like "frame" the entire tv, i think it;s possible, just make sure it's sturdy enough. And I think you should also consider the wall you're about to mount it to.

here's a link to the image of what i did...it's a little too complicated compared to your idea of a piece of wood but it might just give you an idea!
