How can I reduce the dripping noise from air conditioning condensate draining into a floor drain?

Question:The air conditioner drains through a narrow PVC pipe into a small floor drain in the basement. The dripping noise is loud enough that I can hear it on the 1st floor, and it's irritating me. Is there something I can put into the drain that will eliminate the dripping noise, but won't cause algae growth or clog the drain?

Answers:
tie a string to it,, the water will run down the string silently

Chumpchange said it for me!
Use a clamp to add a small length of rubber tubing and fit it directly into the drain.
Take a piece of wire and wrap it around the drain pipe so that it hangs into the drain. Form the wire so that it catches the water drops and the condensate will run down the wire instead of dripping.
chumpchange has the answer. Anything that hangs off of the drip tube will do it, but a string is best, it catches the drips, then when it gets wet enough it will stick to the side of the drain pipe and allow the water to run down the side of the pipe. So there you are, tie a string to the run off pipe.
