Sun-burned Lawn (very yellow) -- Is there a way to fix it or is it too late?
Question:I didnt water my lawn for like 3 weeks straight and the sun has been very hot (no rain) --about 30deg Celcuis here in Southern Ontario Canada-- the areas near the road have turned a very bright whitish-yellow...have those areas died entirely and must i topsoil and reseed the area or is there a special chemical i can buy to revive those very yellow spots..
Note: I tried watering those areas very deeply for the last 2 days and has not changed color one bit :(

Keep watering, and try some fertilizer. It may turn green over time, but that won't happen fast. Grass is tough; it will return next year or even in the fall if you take care of it. Water in the morning, not at night.
My lawn was pretty yellow for a bit. I just put down some fertilizer and watered it , it took a couple of weeks though. so just be a little more patient, and toss a little fert. on there, and it should revive. Good Luck
It's best just to let it go for the summer (it has gone dormant and will come back on its own in the fall), but if you water the crap out if it (say 5cm/wk) for a month or so it will come back.
DO NOT FERTILIZE Fertilizer will cause it to try and create a lot of top growth and stress it out even more. Don't fertilize it until fall.
