Is there an insecticide or remedy known to kill carpenter bees?
Question:I have tryed several bee and general purpose insecticides but nothing seems to phase these carpenter bees. Can anyone offer a solution?
Answers:
this will not kill them but if there near by, spray them with hard to hold hair spray, they fall to the ground, what you do next is up to you
Use smoke. they go into limbo and you can kill them easily with direct killer poison or other means.
Call a beekeeper, they are all over.
I don't think I've ever heard of carpenter bees, carptenter ants yes, but bees, ah who cares, you need to get rid of em.
What you've got to do is get rid of the hive. use smoke as stated before to calm the bees, then destroy the nest. You MUST have protective clothing, even stoned bees will retain varying levels of aggresion when you go after their house.
You really should just call a local exterminator, they can or will know a bee keeper that can do the job for you. doesn't cost that much.

we use the paint method on our cedar siding home and fence... and the 'badmitton raquet' method for fun and exercise. and the 'Great Stuff' filler method just to tick'em off. I sometimes lie in bed at night and have to hear them chewing, chewing... eating my house!... piles of sawdust on the porch in the morning where they've found bare wood under the porch railings!. grrrr. good luck to ya!!
