Does anybody have an idea of the cost to have an extractor fan fitted in a bathroom?

Question:This will need to include: Making the hole in the wall, supplying and fitting the fan and connecting it to the electrics.

Answers:
Fan no more than 20 quid, hole in the wall . . . . probs whole thing would cost more than bout 60

It depends on what electric circuits are available if there is a suitable one nearby that can be used then not too expensive. Drilling the hole and fitting the tubing, cover and fan can take some time if on a high level. I would say about £120
Generally electrcians charge for the time they spend doing the job, so find someone with a competitive hourly rate and then ask for rough quote. Also ask any neighbous or nearby friends if they can recommend someone because rates and standards can vary. If you know what fitting you need you can by it wholesale yourself.
I had an industrial strength fan installed in mine as a replacement and it cost around $500.
Hi I'm pierce from Pierce & Banderiezz interiors.
It depends where the electric socket is situated within your wc. If it is within 3 meters i usually charge £50 per standard fitting.

Pierce

Ps on average it tends to fall in the £230 region.
good luck.
An Extractor Fan if you buy it from Wickes will cost about £40.
Obviously you would need an Electrician and he would charge £45 for fitting the operation switch. This switch could link with the light switch so when you entered your bathroom and pulled the cord the Extractor Fan would commence operating and continue for at least 15 minutes after you pulled the cord again. If you have a window in your bathroom you would not want to switch on the light when in fact it is daytime. Thus you would require a variety of Fan from say AXIA which has a movement trigger so when you enter the bathroom it switches the fan on. This would cost around £75-100. Electrician charge plus cost of opening wall.
My guess is that you are not into DIY in any way and of course this will bump up the cost. So my first figure is between £200-250. Different people charge different rates.
So your first move is to decide what type of operation you want your Fan to be. Next get minimum 2 quotes, ideally 3, from Electricians for (a) Supplying (b) fitting and (c) subsequent warranty and for what period.
Also, you like to know who the Electrician has carried installations out for so that you can ask them whether they were satisfied with the result. If he is reluctant to say give him a miss. You are the one paying the cash and YOU call the tune.
Now listen to this carefully, there is an old English saying which says Act in haste Repent at leisure. Apply it to this matter. Get it Right and don't get into the regrets as to how the job was done.
Coring the wall £20.00
100mm (Quality) timer fan £35.00
Connecting and fitting. £60.00

Total £110.00-£140.00 + VAT
you wont get any change from 160 ..and i would put money on it
phone an electrical contractor and ask for quote //he'll be glad to slip round and tell you there and then for all you have stated and make sure he's professional its near water
it will cost you around 350.00 dlls 120 for materials and 230 for labor "remember you need to run duct to the outside" if is not accessible it may cost you more
You buy the unit and a electrician should fit it for about £100
including the hole through the wall .
