I have a sealcoating compant this is not hard just take your time the best way is hire a company that offers a great sealer coal tar based is the best but with prices of oil the price is going up for sealer they are trying to replace coal tar with asphalt based sealer witch works but wears off sooner and will not hold up to gas or oil like coal tar if you hire this done make sure they have a big tank with a mixing system to keep the sealer mixed up if not you may be getting just black water on your drive ask for references ask them how much they dilluted there sealer coal tar around 30-32 percent no more and asphalt based no more that 20 percent. they stuff that you buy at a store is no good it been setting in a shelf for years sometimes all the contents of the bucket is at the bottom and will need to be mixed good this will be a mess. so that you dont get the bricks use duck tape I dont but I have done this for years.
1 prep your drive edge it
2 blow off
3 treat gas-oil stains
4 fill cracks
spead the sealer around cover only the spots that you will be working with at the time so that it dont dry them start at the top and use your brush to go side to side to take out the marks from the brush so that you get a nice looking driveway
put carpet piece accross the sidewalk and at the bottom of the drive so that you dont get sealer in the grass.

Sounds like you need a clear concrete sealer. This wouls be ok if you got it on the bricks. Probably can roll it on or brush it on with a large broom. Just make sure you clean the driveway very well. I first treat any oil or grease spots with a good degreaser, scrub and clean it well and multible times if needed. Then spray or sweep off the entire driveway until clean. make sure there will be no rain for 24-48 hors and seal the driveway. Talk to your local homecenter for the correct sealer to use and also follow the manufactures directions on the sealer. Plan on 1/2 day cleaning and the next day sealing.
Figure out which product to coat it with and read the instructions carefully.

Then use oil or stain removers to remove spots or stains.

One item will be to clean the driveway very well. Pressure spray it or use a garden hose while brushing it as clean as possible.

Make sure you choose a day where the weather won't be too hot or cold and have at it.

It's really not all that hard. Good luck.
The commonest mistake is to hire a person who pulls up to your driveway and says "I have some leftover sealer from another job" .

Seriously, that is a common mistake.
1) Start at the house and go to the street
2) Don't touch your face
3) Take your shoes off before you go in the house
