Could I use a 3 phase converter to run a kiln?

Question:I am thinking of buying a larger kiln for my work, and it would require 3 phase power at 7.5kw according to the info. Would I be able to run it using one of those phase converters changing single to 3 phase? Or would I be better off finding out how much it would cost to have 3 phase installed in my garage?

Answers:
I am not familiar with kilns but I think they simply heat things up? If so, you may be able to have the unit re-wired to use single phase power.

3 phase would be very expensive to install even if it were available out front as girly electric stated.

Converters do work. I have installed them, but they are expensive, and expensive to install and operate.

3-phase installation will cost a fortune.

Best advice, look at alternatives.
Depends if its 3 or 4 wire 3 phase. If its 4 wire, and the TOTAL load is 7.5kw then you could possibly link the phase terminals and run it on single phase. It would only need a 32amp supply. Best check with the manufacturers before you buy!!
Take the advice of Jayktee 96 this man knows is stuff on electric's many sound answers given in the past.
