Where can you get Oil Drums- empty ones?

Question:We want oil drums to use as planters for a wildlife gardening project.

Answers:
Ask, disposal may be a problem...

Get food container drums instead so you don't poison your garden...

From the person on here a few days ago asking where he could dispose of a load of empty oil drums. Seriously!

Maybe contacting a local fuel distributor could point you in the right direction.
Your local landfill. It most likely has a metal pile that would not get compacted on a daily basis. Mine always has drums, not necessarily oil drums but the 50 gallon size, Clean and with tops removed.
Modern nonsense has now classified these as hazardous waste so businesses are not allowed to give them to you.

you might try a farm or garage, but they might suspect you are someone from trading standards. The "hazardous" classification has been so well publicised to businesses we are all expecting high policing of it and have our guard up.

so it's likely to have to be via someone you know.
neighbour house
Steal them at dead of night..?
