Is there an item that will assist in tightening a screw? My son's bike pedal has become loose.?

Question:The threads don't appear to be stripped but once it should be tightening, it doesn't. I'm thinking there's a type of (glue?) that will keep it tightened. Thanks for helping.

Answers:
Loc-tite is the product you are looking for. The nut could be stripped and should be replaced.

locktite...I would replace the bolt on the pedal because if you use locktite you might not be able to get it off if it needs replaced.
First make sure it is not stripped out. There is a producut called locktite. Can be picked up at any hardware store
What fixed my same problem with my grandson's bike was torquing it down more.
Get it tight.
He's been safe with it since.
Is there something on the back that has to be held in place to tighten the screw. I'll bet a bike shop would do it for free if you were to take it to them. The only other thing I know is to put a tiny piece of wood in the opening and then tighten it- maybe even a match stick.
yes, loc-tite but there are different kinds. you want thread lock, ask at your diy store they should know what one you want. and if you need to remove the bolt, loc tite is reactive to heat, heat up the bolt with a small torch and the loc-tite will release
