What is the best kind of sand for kids sand box?

Question:Im looking for something less than 15 bucks for a 70 lb. bag. im filling a 9`X4` box .

Answers:
You can get what is called play sand. Wal-Mart carries it. It is generally about $3.00 for a 40lb. bag

Home Depot also sells play sand - its pretty cheap.
There are different kinds of sand varieties and sizes. The smallest that I have seen sold is a #4 blast sand, going all the way up to a #1 sand (which is the size of small pebbles.) A #3 size PLAYSAND is the most common. You should be able to find this at some of the home inprovement, or do-it-yourself stores. They come in 50# bags. It is not recommended that you use a silica sand, try to use a natural #3 sand.
Hi, on ours Dad used pure Silica Sand. We were very spoiled!Bye
I recommend sand that is used for cement mixing. I bought the play sand that everybody mentioned, and I hated it for my kid's sandbox. It's way too powdery and seems to really stick to your kid-- hard to clean up. They always looked like they were hit with a powder puff. The other kind of sand is coarser and seems to fall off of their clothes much easier, and they also seem to be able to mold the sand into castles, etc. easier.
you want to ask for masons sand, courser than silica sand but finer than concrete sand
Masonry sand. Call a bricklayer, find out where he buys it. Have a load delivered.
Play sand!!
