How do I fit a door number to a UPVC door?

Question:Can I use screws or does it need to be self adhesive? (Sorry - I'm sure this is really basic but I am hopeless at DIY)

Answers:
Most UPVC front doors have a metal security sheet built into them. There is no good or bad way to fix numbers on although most are screwed. Just remember that if you do screw them on, you need to use a drill a size or two smaller than the holes in the numbers so that you don't end up with screws not fitting the holes. Make sure that it is a drill for drilling into metal and not a wood drill. Also mark yourself a straight line with a piece of masking tape or similar where you want the numbers, hold the numbers up against the tape and using a pencil, put a little dot in the middle of the screw holes, otherwise, you could end up with wonky numbers.

mine are screwed in, but you can glue or tape them on
I'd go for stick ons. How's your letterbox fixed? Copy that.
If it's staying then just drill two small holes to guide the screws and screw it on .
SUPERGLUE
I would use self tapping screws, & maybe super glue if the numbers are plastic
Its no problem to use screws just make sure they have thread all the way along them...
I also drilled a smaller pilot hole first and then screwed the numbers on...
If you don't want to damage the door use some bathroom sealent (silicon). It it waterproof and very strong but you will be able to take it off it you ever have to.
Why don't you buy no nails glue and use that
You can buy the self adhesive ones from most hardware shops or DIY
Use double sided adhesive tape (exterior grade) it is much easier for the non DIY person
the best thing to do is use self adhesive labels i wouldnt pu screws or nails anywhere on mine better safe than sorry
if you don't like the stick on's buy whatever you like and use double sided tape. you don't have to stick to plastic, if you have glass you could stick them on there, then when its dark outside they can still be seen if there is a light on inside!
