Silly question but really need to know!!?

Question:I am moving at the end of the month and will have professional movers! I would like to know if I am suppose to leave pictures ect. hanging on the walls or do I remove them myself? I don't have a meeting with the movers for another week and so anxious to get started!

Answers:
Our packers have always wanted us to leave them on the walls. They pull them off as they go, and nothing gets in their way.
Treat your packers well. Offer water and snacks.
Watch them carefully, report workers who are doing a bad job.
Finally, stay out of their way.

my husband was a mover, and they did everything, dishes, pictures, toys, you name it. Maybe call the company.
You can start packing anytime, they'll help with what you need, if any.
believe me you are going to want to remove your items yourself. A lot of movers are careless
mover just move boxes and large items. If you want your items packed, then you need to hire packers. Some moving companies do both, but it costs more.
I'm sure its fine either way, most movers expect some packing, namely large items like TVs and furniture, and they'll take the initiative with other stuff. But Its gonna cost you extra as the move and your cost will have an hourly charge involved.

Personally, I'd pack things like that to ensure they get handled carefully and not forgotten. During a move is stressful and your attention will be on many things so you may end up forgetting something like a picture.
you take everything off the wall, put everything you wish to take with you in boxes yourself. you must label and designate everything you want to movers to take. They are only physically taking your stuff out of the house, putting your things in the truck, and taking them back out of the truck into your new place, furniture, boxes, etc. Make sure you bubble wrap those pics.
My suggestion would be to contact them to find out where their liabilities end, if you do the packing.
I would pack up the stuff i care about, because some movers break things, by accident, so.
If u are paying some proffessional firm who has had an upper hand in the region then u dont need to worry as they will do everything. But u have to be carefull and supervise properly.
My aunt had some movers and they treated her like **** so therefor i would do all the packing myself.
I would do your own packing of valuable items and place them into a seperate vehicle that you are driving. they did over $750 of damage to my items (broken lamps, scratched furniture, broken dishes) and offered me $7.52 for the insurance on it. get extra insurance and check to see how much they will charge you for packing supplies they charged us $4.50 per roll of tape, and $32-55 per box they used. Extra charges ended up begin $400 more dollars over their cost estimate and they refused to return my furniture until I paid it.

**Check thier record on the better business bureau and see if they have any past customer compaints. www.bbb.com

****Use extreme caution with moving companies****
The more they do, the more it costs.
I completely agree with Brooke & R's response, check on your moving company. A good place is movingscam.com, which has a black list and histories of movers all over the country. They are very poorly regulated and have a habit of holding your goods hostage until you pay exorbitant extra fees. I've been though it and recommend ABF Freight which you pack and they haul. If you want to use movers (and I'm sure some are trustworthy) pack anything breakable first.
