Making the dispenser bit (wood) for the gumball machine?

Question:I cannot think of a way of making the bit where you release/prevent the gumball from falling into the hole, and vice versa? Please help!

Answers:
I'd think you could do it this way. Take a piece of wood and draw a circle the size you'd need. Draw a smaller circle inside of the original. Using a spade or forstner bit drill 4 holes large enough to hold the gumballs space equally around the inner circle far enough out that at least 1/4 or more of the hole protrudes beyond the original circle. Cut out the original circle and you should have a circular piece that will catch and then release gumballs as you turn it. You might not need 4 holes, I'm just designing on the fly and it's really, really late, lol. Have fun with it though.
