Installing free standing stove range no outlet?

Question:installing a free standing range in 960 sq ft house kitty corner from box in basement currently there are built ins and I hate them (70's) their outlets are 5 foot from rear of range and are separate. do I need new wiring or can electrician merge lines and put them where I need em or do I need all new? How much for ball park figure would you guess to cost labor and parts? the wire would run from box to range about 65 ft of wire > any ideas> I will put hole in floor myself and it is unfinished basement. he will already be there replacing box and connecting wireing as previous owners did some crazy things to it.

Answers:
An electric range requires 220Volts and needs to be on its own circuit breaker, so no an electrician cannot merge other lines to hook up your range. A new dedicated line needs to be ran.

Well electricity is something you defiantly need an electrician to handle, we built homes & renovate, remodel etc. the electrician will charge you a minium of 100.00 here in Fl. But it sounds like u definately need one. Yes we see all kinds of crazey things where people don't want to pay for an electrician and it can really be scary & not worth it at all, call your local electrician & ask 2 things, what's your service fee & how much an hour. or job. Mimi
Depending on ur electrician, ask him nicely, with a small bribe! (helpful) If its not an unsightful mess to get at, he might be able to just make a junction, and continue on to reach ur destination for the outlet. The easier you make it for him to do it, the more likely he'll do it for next to nothing! Good luck!
Circuit will have to be brought up to new code. It will require a 4-wire circuit. You will need a 4-wire cord for your range.

I'd say you should expect to pay $200 - 250.
