How do you effectivly connect polyethene pipe (poly pipe) to ABS pipe?
Question:I'm looking to glue or weld these two pipes (there's hundreds of connections) so the option of using connectors are out. I've tried ABS cement but it doesn't bond with the polyethene. Next I'm trying fiberglass resin with the harderner added. Right now they are setting up. I want it to hold up under moderate pressure (20psi max). This is a side project; no worries to all the contractors, this isn't for house use!

The only real way to connect the two is with a mechanical fitting, that is with two fixtures and not glue.
Your polypipe has to go into the ABS somewhere, Tee off there and on the unused side of the T put a female adapter there. The next thing to do is, size the fitting to whatever your poly is, that is, if you have 2" ABS and 1" poly, bush the fitting down. so it accepts the male 1"poly fixture.
Don't forget to tighten the two joints teflon tape is optional but not a bad investment if you don't wan a leak... Use two clamps to hold the poly to the fixture. To clamps will prevent the poly from flattening on oneside and prefent a leak.
I've starred this question so if anyone else can come-up with a better solution I'll be able to learn from it.
