Type of saw/saw blade for cutting parquet flooring?
Question:I am installing parquet flooring in my hallway. the tiles that i purchased have metal wires under the wood for support what type of saw/ sawblade is best and least expensive for the job. it is a small job so i dont need to put a lot of money in a saw blade that ill only used to cut approx. 32 tiles with and thats it. but i need one that will at least last untill the job is done. Any suggestions?

Not sure but go to Lowe's when i have a question they always have the answer
I would look for a finishing blade (one with more teeth), as it will give you cleaner cuts.
Are you sure it is supported on wire? The ones I have laid were on a fabric mesh, and these cut easily with a hard point hand saw. see link http://www.justoffbase.co.uk/hardpoint-h...
A jig saw would also work well because the blade cuts on the up stroke so it won't pull the backing away. Also it would cope with soft metal wires. However that is a big investment for one job.
I wouldn't worry too much about the wire any carbide tipped blade will handle it. But remember SAFETY FIRST: Safety glasses support each tile and clamp it and slow and steady.
I have cut the stuff quite a few times and used whatever blade was on my saw at the time. The wires are very soft and won't be a problem no matter what blade you use. Since you only have a few cuts I would suggest buying the cheapest blade you can find and throwing it out when you're done. Those things can be a pain when you cut them and they start falling apart on you. Have fun.
You want to use a fine toothed blade. They are easy to pick out because they have many more teeth and are generally much smaller in size than a standard or ripping blade. They sell them at Lowes that will also cut through metal for about $20.00
