How do you get caulking off a tub surround?
Question:The previous owner of my RV did a sloppy job and got caulking all over the edge of the tub surround and it looks kinda bad. Any ideas to get it off without damaging the tub surround would be greatly appreciated!

Depending on what your tub is made of, you can use a razor blade. If not, get a heavy duty scub brush and vigorously scrubbing the caulk will cause it to separate from the tub. You can then peal a lot of it off with your fingers, and any leftover peices can be removed with caulk remover - which you can find at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.
take a razor blade and make a nice clean cut where you wish to have the chaulk stay.then peel off rest with a putty knife, it won't cut into the tub as bas a razor blade would...hence less scratches
I found plastic putty/drywall compound knives at Walmart. They will not scratch the surface. Use these first to remove most of the caulk and then remove residue with denatured alcohol.
When my husband redid the caulking on his parents tub he bought a tool for it..He said it works slick..I don't think that tool is expensive and you can get it at a hardware store just ask them coz that's what the recommended and hubby loves it.
single edge razor blade
