How can I split low voltage wire to install lighting?

Question:

Answers:
If you are talking about separating the two parts on a zipcord cable to make the connections, they come apart easily. Just grab one wire in your left hand's fingers and the other in your right hand's fingers and pull them apart so that the web of insulation tears. They are made to rip along their center web. If you want to open them up not at the end but in the middle of a cable run, take a pencil or a butter knife and push it into that central web of insulation to get it started and then grab the two wires and pull them further apart.

You must use a transformer, for low voltage, they are available at most hardware stores or electrical supply house (Grainger) . Good Luck
