Does anyone has a non toxic control for carpenter ants and carpenter bees in the roof?

Question:We have discovered carpenter ants and bees have begun housekeeping in our porch roof. We would like to kill the ants but just stop the bees without killing ourseves and other living creatures. Is there a safer way?
