I believe the plug you are trying to describe is a special-purpose 20-amp, as compared to general household plugs which are 15-amp rated. The only way you're going to change it is by replacing it with a 15-amp plug. But before you do, make sure the appliance or whatever it's on can work on your line without drawing so much current that you end up with the plug welded to the outlet!
what u have is a 220 plugin like for an air conditioner or big appliance use what u wantin is a normal 110 plugin i think considerin u obviously dont know alot bout electric i suggest getting a professional. the difference is two of the wires are hot instead of one its not a big deal to fix but dont unless u know what u doing
If it is indeed a 220 volt plug you cannot use the appliance on a 110 volt circuit anyway. Have an electrician install a 220 outlet for you. If it's a special 20 amp, 110 volt plug you'll also need an outlet installed for it. Any electrical shop can get you squared away.
