Hello, could someone please tell me the name of the piece of wood that sits on the floor between a doorway.?

Question:They are usually found in older houses. It's called something like a foot plate I think.
Thanks :-)

Answers:
A "door stop"?

a door threshold
A threshold.
Door stopper?
Threshold?
I think you are referring to what is called a threshold. They are usually found in older homes.
In Ireland and the UK its known as a "Saddleboard".

Because it saddles the space between the door.
I think its called a transition.
threshold
Doorjam
Not a foot plate...a door threshold
It's a Threshold. Not a Door Jam or a Door stop, A THRESHOLD! And newer houses have them too!
It's called a threshold. However, if it's in between two pieces of flooring it is a transition piece. Good luck with that.
