fit the bulb in its fitting:::! hold in place (push up into the hole) the clip then holds it in :::! squeeze the two bent bits together place to the bulb missing the lugs on the fitting , let go , it springs out behind the lugs , thus holding the bulb ::!!
Hi, I have the same type, I believe, with two little springs that hold it up. First turn off the switch to light. Take out the bulb. You will see 2 very small holes on the inside rim of the piece that lies flat on ceiling. The bottom of the spring goes here. Then inside where the bulb was you will see two round corner rectangles about 1/4 inch by 1/2 inch this is where the more rounded end of the spring goes. Hope this helps.
If you have another spot light take it out carefully, with the electric off and you will be able to see how it goes together, if not buy a new one and get an electrican in to fit it.
Is it just the bulb that has dropped?

you push the bulb in as far as it wiill go, and the ring/retaining spring goes in front of it . There should be a small lip for the spring to rest behind. It's a bit fiddly to say the least. Good luck.
