How do I change a Spanish plug socket?
Question:I live in quite an old apartment and need to change a couple of plug sockets. The problem is, the new sockets I have only have connections for live and neutral but nothing for earth.
I'm confused because the old socket has connections for all 3!
A TV will be connected to this socket. Can anyone help??
Thanks in advance

You can buy a replacement with the same configuration by asking at the hardware store. The word Spanish plug puzzles me. I live in Spain and the plugs are 2 round holes with a metal strip on the sides (connected to ground) and the other two pins are hot and neutral.
If you are in the US and are describing the 2 flat blade plugs and the 3-rd contact being round (ground). If you look at the plug (or receptacle) one blade will be wider than the other and that is hooked to the neutral and the narrower blade is hot. I still don't know what it is that you are trying to do.
Are you changing the receptacle in the wall?
1- Just buy a duplicate replacement or if the receptacle that you have is good, and you need an additional outlet, get a multiple (triplet) plug and plug it in. Instead of one receptacle you will now have three.
I hope this helps ! Good luck ! ! !
You will need to get a recessed socket (deep) These have a metal strip on both sides and connect to ground (green wire) inside the box. The 2 hole (surface mount) have no ground.
The dept stores such as "LeClerc", "Iroski", and the "Ferriterias) hardware stores have them both.
Again, Good Luck ! ! !
call your landlord
you can go to any place that usually specialize in travel or luggage, ask for a outlet converter for non us electrical outlets
