I have an old formica table that has buckled thru the years.?

Question:It looks like it is warping...any ideas on how to fix it without spending alot of money..or would it be easier to replace it with a piece of wood...and ideas would be helpful.thanks

Answers:
It will be easier just to replace the top with a new one, or buy a new table.

Break the warped surface off the top, fill the resulting holes with a wood filler such as Famowood, and put new HPL, high pressure laminate, e.g. Formica, on top. Will need a router and a bearing trim bit to trim off the edges though.
The easiest thing to do is just replace it with a piece of wood as you stated. Before doing this you could try to carefully pry up the un-buckled part of the counter top adjacent to the buckled part. If successful then you could re glue that part down. You want to make sure you have adequate pressure over the entire counter top that is being glued down.
