Painting a wheelchair?

Question:Anyone know how I could go about doing this? I could remove everything, paint it, and reassemble, but I'm hoping there is an easier way. Would it work if I just covered the parts that I don't want painted, and then spray paint? I'm concerned though that if I spray paint it, some of the movable parts on it won't be able to move, such as the break lever. Any suggestions?

Hi 'rami'. I personally, would disassemble the chair to paint it. The Vaseline thing would work, but, you will never get clean straight 'masking' lines using this technique and the finished piece will look very amateurish. Beyond disassembling the chair, I wouldn't paint it either.A wheel chair, like a bicycle, needs to take lots of abuse. I would, rather, take it to either a furniture refinishing shop or an auto body shop and, have the frame sandblasted and then powder coated. I'm thinkin' metallic purple with flame colors running back from the front parts of the frame.but that's just how i think...everything should be purple with with side flames.like my refrigerator.
Good luck and have fun with it.

where the moving parts are place some Vaseline over the places, the Vaseline is oil based and will not mix with the paint
