I have some rust spots on my concrete patio and I scrubbed it but, it never came off. Any suggestions?

Question:I would like to know if there is anything on the market that takes rust spots off of concrete. I am in the process of putting on a concrete sealant on my patio, sidewalk and driveway, but, the patio has some rust spots from a metal swing that is always left on the patio (year round). I have used the concrete cleaner etc. but it is not taking the rust spots off of the concrete pad. Am I missing something? Is there a concrete cleaner that will take off rust from a patio? Is there something simple I can use such as bleach and water on concrete? Thanks for your help.

Answers:
Don't use bleach -- bleach *causes* oxidation, and that's what rust is.

The calcium/lime/rust removers already mentioned should work well. Let the liquid soak into the pores until the rust fades, then rinse well. A coat of concrete paint/sealer will help avoid future stains by sealing the pores in the concrete.

Also, scrub the rust off the furniture feet, prime and paint them, and add a plastic foot/pad underneath so that the metal feet won't be in direct contact with the concrete later.

a power washer would do the trick
try lime away cleaner
Muratic Acid will work
two bathroom cleaners that I have used (successfully) on my own patio ...Kaboom and CLR. I bought them thinking they might come in handy and when we had a large family gathering I wanted everything to look perfect and the patio was the last stop on the cleaning train. I have used both of these products (at different times) with success! Good luck!
use CLR (a cleaner, it stands for calcium lime and rust) and a power washer.
I think they sell rust remover for concrete. try Home Depot or Lowes
Muratic Acid would do the trick, but plan on doing the whole area because it will leave white spots where you poured it out because it removes all the dirt from the concrete.

The only thing that is impossible to get out is crab apple juce. When I was a little kid, our neighbor got a new driveway installed and us kids went over there and wrote all over his drive way using crab apples.

He tried everything to get rid of it, but it would not come out. It took several months before it completely dissappeared!
