What is the difference between a power drill that has 22 settings and one that has 5 settings?
Question:If two power drills both have 12 volts and one has 22 settings and the other has 5 settings, whats the difference in power??

The difference in power is probably discernible. These are simply clutch settings. Obviously the tool with 22 settings has a wider range of sensitivity which in most cases is a little over kill. Unless you find yourself dealing with a wide range of torque changing situations, I would go with the 5 settings.
there probably isn't any difference in power. but depending on what the settings are for it probably adjusts the torque. (rotational force) the torque you want depends on the job you are doing. the drill with 22 settings probably just allows you to dial it in better.

setting 1 will turn a screw but not very hard at all and will keep the chuck from turning almost immediately where setting 5/22 will act like an actual drill. Torque settings are mainly used for fasteners (screws, nuts, bolts, ect) and the biggest difference is that the 22 setting one will yield a wider range of flexability for tightening those fasteners
The power is basically the same. Unless you are needing those settings for some type of precision work, the 5 setting model should work fine.
