Answers:
Really thin material use scissors
Thicker material use tin snips
Really thick material use a saw with a metal cutting blade
Rods and pipe use either a hack saw or a reciprocating saw
Anything bigger you may have to take it to a sheet metal shop to get cut.

Use a razor blade.
I prefer PETN explosives.
tin snips exactly why are you cutting it what type of project
Either use tin snipps if it is sheet metal type or you can use a dremmel tool to cut a rod. A hack saw will work but is slow.
buy a pair of "Tin" snips.. then have at it.. You can use a sharpie marker to draw your lines.. The type of snips matter as they make them to cut straight, left curve or right curve.. Choose wisely...
Get Edward's Scissorhands and try it!

Okay, jk. Try using an xacto knife cutting board thingy.
http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stor... try these types of cutter things they work for me.
tin snips, saw jaw with blade for cutting metal,or a hack saw
a metal saw
Tin snips for the thinner grades and a hacksaw for thicker grades.
If you are trying to avoid bending the edges, place it between two boards clamped tightly together. Mark on the board where you want to saw and do it with a hacksaw or other fine-toothed blade saw.
