Cover the glass with a towel, then hit on the towel with your hammer. It reduces noise and makes breaking the glass safer.
Tape paper or a drop sheet over it, then strike it.
Smash it over your own head. Any noise it makes you won't hear anyway because you'll be out cold...
Take a drinking glass for instance. Put it in the freezer till it gets ice cold then let hot water run on it ans it will crack nice and silent.
