My shower only provides hot water. How do I fix it?
Question:Price Pfister shower fixture
Answers:
Is this a new fixture or one you already have used?
If it is not new, it could be the mixing valve.
If it is new are both lines hooked up? Did you turn on both water supply lines?
Good luck!
Very vague. New faucet? If so check valve(s) for packaging that may be restriciting flow. If not you may have a faulty blocked or closed valve in the line. Check all valves in line by closing and opening several times to break up deposits that may be in line. Make sure they are all open when done.
first of all you need to take the handle off then the face plate behind the handle. now look at either side of the faucet-- is there two little stops on either side of the main valve. if so then you need to ck the cold side and see if it is open or not. if you have these stops then make sure the cold one is open. if closed then you will open it up by turning the stop open counter-clock wise--- there are some stops that only open a 1/4 turn-- if the slot is in-line with the pipe then it's open , if the slot is perpendicular to the pipe then it is closed--ck to see if you have either type-- if not then there is something blocking the flow of water to the faucet and you will need to take the faucet apart to fix and flush the valve. re-assembly the valve and it should work fine then....good luck.....
Call a plumber. or if you are handy, go to owes and buy anew shower fixture, then turn off the mains, tear out the wall and replace the fixture.
Wait a minute...Lots of these assemblies have replaceable, nearly cartridge like, valves in them. You need a special wrench to remove them, but the BigBox home improvement centers have those too. Now all you need is ....the model number of your valve set.it was on the box that it came in. That and $30+/- will probably solve your problem
