At a new place- trying to decorate- but problem with the walls in one of the rooms.?

Question:there is huge amounts of cement on the bricks itself- it is quite a big room, and don't want to find myself scrubbing away with an iron brush- is there any chemicals i could use or alternate suggestives. really urgent- please help.

Answers:
I wouldnt even try to remove that. Just go with it or cover it up with whatever you like.

Find a masons chisel and a hammer and try to chip the cement off of the bricks. Do this by placing the chisel on the brick itself and striking it to push the cement to the side and shear it off, don't strike it square. After you have it fairly smooth us a drywall compound to coat the entire wall, add texture, let dry and paint to the color of your choosing, the textured wall will hide any of the remaining small pieces of cement.
