I need to remove a stripped screw from my device.the screw is 5mm in diameter?

i hate when that hapens mate! if possible you could drill the screw out with a 5mm drill and re-tap the hole 6mm,or if you are careful you could drill it 4mm and re-tap it 5mm(this all depends if it into a blind hole or the type of metal the screw is made of.if all fails,just drill it through and use a bolt and nut.hope you get it sorted ,remember these things are sent to try us!
Try a machine shop. They should be able to handle it.
You can use an "Easy Out". A sort of tap/die set that binds up the screw and twists it out. You can also drill it out with a slighly smaller size drill bit. The outside bits normally fall off the old threads. Good luck.
Do what Tallula says. Try easy out first, then the latter.
